85`318i at - mt swap from 91`325i engine possible?

i have a 85 318i at. as u all know. my cousin is about to sell her 91 325i cabby mt.. i know this is prolly a dumb question but .. cud that engine fit in my 318i? .. i was talkin to a friend he said to just take the engine/tran.etc off it and put it in my 318i.. i WOULD drive the 325i instead but its a cabb (( no offense to cabby drivers.. much respect )) and its more jacked up than my 318i. more dents. more rusted. needs a few new parts to get it to a daily driver.

fit in there just fine. was a bit of work.

As long as you transferred all 325 specific parts from the cab to your car, it should pretty much bolt in.

I would also change out the front and rear suspension and install 4 wheel disc brakes.

We did all that on mots car.

You will run into electrical wiring issues (IE you gotta convert from old to new), unless you swap out the ENTIRE wiring harness (which may not be a bad idea depending on how far you wanna strip the car)

I helped a friend do this swap last summer. We had air tools and a lift and it only took a day to get everyting in - electrical was another story. We swapped everything we needed from a donor 325i and it all bolted in like it should have
